Office of Development

Private financial support provides the margin of excellence that distinguishes great universities from good ones. As the flagship institution of the University System of Georgia and America's first publicly chartered university, UGA is proud to be a public institution. But direct state support accounts for only about one third of UGA's annual operating budget.

Private gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations make the difference, and these gifts focus on critical areas such as scholarships, endowed professorships, graduate fellowships, international study for students and faculty, research facilities and the campus master plan.

The Office of Development, through the offices listed below, works with alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to support UGA's exceptional faculty, students and programs.
