Development
Private financial support provides the margin of excellence that makes universities great.Through private gifts, UGA promotes and supports scholarships, endowed professorships, graduate fellowships, international study for students and faculty, research facilities, and the campus master plan. Although UGA is a public institution, direct public support accounts for less than 40 percent of the annual operating budget. Therefore, through the Development Office, private gifts and pledges from individuals, foundations and corporations help to ensure the university's excellence in the academy.
